The Protos 80 ER is a high-speed cigarette making machine built by Hauni for manufacturers who need high-volume output without losing consistency. It is supplied by Orchid Tobacco Dubai from our Jebel Ali Free Zone base as part of our wider range of tobacco machinery. The line is made up of three units working together: the S7000 Cigarette Rod Maker, the M8000 Filter Tip Attachment and the F80 Auto Tray Filler, so tobacco goes in at one end and filter-tipped cigarettes come out ready in trays at the other.
The Protos 80 ER runs at up to 8,000 cigarettes per minute on regular-diameter cigarettes and up to 7,000 cigarettes per minute on slim and super slim formats. It handles cigarette circumferences from 17mm to 28.3mm and filter plus tobacco rod lengths from 65mm to 110mm, which lets one machine cover king size, slim and niche formats.
Output stays consistent at this speed because of two built-in systems. A SIEMENS IPC or BECKHOFF IPC PLC control system monitors and automates the production cycle, which reduces operator error and helps keep the line running. A microwave weight control system checks cigarette weight as it runs, so variation between cigarettes stays low and your product stays within quality standards.
In a factory, the Protos 80 ER sits at the front of the line. The S7000 rod maker (50KW) forms the cigarette rod, the M8000 filter tip attachment (20KW) joins the filter, and the F80 auto tray filler (15KW) loads the finished cigarettes into trays. From there they move on to your cigarette packing machines, which is why we often quote the two together as one end-to-end line.
The machine is best suited to high-volume plants that want to scale output, factories running several formats on one maker, and manufacturers upgrading an older line. At a total weight of 10,800 KG, it also needs proper planning for floor space, foundations and power supply before it arrives.
The closest match is the Protos 70. It offers up to 7,000cpm on regular diameters and 6,000cpm on slim and super slim, against 8,000cpm and 7,000cpm on the Protos 80 ER. The circumference range (17mm – 28.3mm), rod length range (65mm – 110mm), PLC options and microwave weight control are the same on both. Choose the Protos 70 for moderate volumes and the Protos 80 ER when you need the higher output ceiling.
